Wolf's Rain (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese anime television series created by writer Keiko Nobumoto and produced by Bones. It was directed by Tensai Okamura and featured character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto with a soundtrack produced and arranged by Yoko Kanno. It focuses on the journey of four lone wolves who cross paths while following the scent of the Lunar Flower and seeking Paradise. Wolf's Rain spans twenty-six television episodes and four original video animation (OVA) episodes, with each episode running approximately twenty-three minutes. The series was originally broadcast in Japan on Fuji TV, some of Fuji TV's affiliate stations, and the anime CS television network, Animax. The complete thirty episode series is licensed for a North American release by Funimation, in Europe by Beez Entertainment and in Australia and New Zealand by Madman Entertainment. The series was adapted into a short two-volume manga series written by Keiko Nobumoto and illustrated by Toshitsugu Iida. The manga, which was released while the series was airing, is a retelling of the story rather than a straight adaptation. About Wolf's Rain

Paradise—a legend, a myth, and a hopeless dream in a world that has become a wasteland. It is not meant for everyone, only the wolves thought to be extinct yet still roam the lands. When the Flower Maiden awakens, the path to the end will open. Kiba, a lone white wolf, wanders into a poverty stricken city on a quest. The scent of Lunar Flowers and the will to find Paradise is all he has. Along the way, he runs into other outcast wolves—Tsume, Hige, and Toboe, each with their own story and troubles. Fate bringing them together, they seek out the Flower Maiden, Cheza, and their way to Paradise. But, doing so is no simple matter. Tsume is living with humans as a leader of a gang that steals from nobles. Cher and a group of scientists are studying Cheza, the flower maiden.

Hige tells Blue that his memories were false and he must now go help the others in Jaguara's keep. Meanwhile Darcia enters Jaguara's keep and starts to wipe out her soldiers.

Jagara's unfinished Paradise plot has sent the world into an unstable rebirth cycle and it's up to Kiba and Cheza to reach the door to the true Paradise before it's too late. The race to the finish line claims its first life, as Cher is killed in a horrible car accident. The end is coming.

A huge explosion heralds the arrival of the wicked Darcia, still bent on claiming Paradise for himself. Remorseless, he guns down Toboe and Quent, who die in each other's arms. Darcia then throws down the gauntlet to Kiba, daring him to reach Paradise.

It's a slow crawl up the side of the mountain, the summit of which holds the gate to Paradise. Lebowski joins his ex-wife in death, plummeting to his doom after losing his grip. It's just the four wolves and Blue remaining, as Darcia makes his final crazed attempt to stop Kiba and Cheza from remaking the world.

In his desperate, brutal lust for paradise, Darcia kills Blue, Hige and Tsume, who all bravely fight to keep him from Cheza; in the end, it's all on Kiba to bring him down. Just when it looks like he's about to win, Paradise rejects Darcia and furiously destroys him, leaving behind only his eyeball. Cheza and Kiba come together, and the world is reborn as a beautiful garden. The Earth begins anew, and as a farewell, all four wolves are alive again.
