Kathmandu Connection is an Indian Hindi-language web series directed by Sachin Pathak, starring Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, and Anshumaan Pushkar in the lead roles. While the first season of this show that was released was inspired by events from the 1993 Bombay blasts, the second edition depicts the events of the infamous IC 814 hijacking case from December 1999. Kathmandu Connection season 1 premiered on 23 April 2021, exclusively on SonyLIV. The teaser for season 2 was released on 13 December 2022, and the show is premiered on 23 December 2022. ()

The story begins in 1993, a few months after a series of blasts in Mumbai that had shaken the whole country. A senior cop of Delhi police, Samarth Kaushik, gets involved in a mysterious revelation. A parallel investigation is taking place in Allahabad, over the killing of a customs officer a few months back. There are two common connections between all the cases, Bombay Blasts, and Kathmandu.

When Delhi-bound Air India flight IC-814 is hijacked and held in Kandahar, Shivani Bhatnagar, now an investigative journalist, is assigned the story. While investigating, she turns to Sunny Sharma, who is serving his sentence in Tihar Jail, for help.

Shivani, now an investigative journalist in London, is assigned to cover the story of the hijack of Delhi-bound flight IC-814 from Kathmandu. Meanwhile, Sunny is serving his sentence in Central Jail and Samarth has quit his job and retreated to the hills of Uttarakhand.

Shivani's discovery of key evidence pushes her closer to learning about the big plan. Meanwhile, Wajid attacks Sunny in prison but the latter survives the attack.

Shivani is caught and held hostage by Ashraf Baig, who tortures her for information. Sunny, who learns about Shivani's disappearance, escapes from prison with the help of his cellmate.

Sunny, aided by Samarth's extensive research, frantically searches for Shivani. The two men, along with Shravan, launch an attack at the location where Shivani is being held.

Samarth and Shravan approach Hitesh, a RAW agent, with the evidence that Shivani gathered. Later, Hitesh's instincts point him to foul play and he alerts his men.

The President of Pakistan reaches Delhi for a meeting with his Indian counterpart. Meanwhile, Hitesh receives a tip that leads him to capture Wajid and Masood, who are being transported by Sunny.
