Expedition der Stachelbeeren ist eine amerikanische Zeichentrickserie, die von Klasky Csupo für Nickelodeon produziert wurde. Sie handelt von den Abenteuern einer fiktiven Tierfilmer-Familie namens Stachelbeere und konzentriert sich dabei vor allem auf die jüngste Tochter der Familie, Eliza, die mit Tieren sprechen kann. Die amerikanische Erstausstrahlung war im Oktober 1998. Es war die erste Zeichentrickserie von Nickelodeon, die halbstündige Geschichten erzählte. Das deutsche Wort Stachelbeere ist dabei keine Übersetzung von Thornberry, sondern Eigenkreation der Übersetzer. Einige bekannte Schauspieler hatten eine Gastrolle als sprechendes Tier in der Serie, darunter Bruce Willis und Hector Elizondo. Die Serie wurde 2001 für einen Emmy nominiert. ()

Meanwhile, Eliza rushes to save some golden eagles from eating poisoned meat from a trapper.

Filming penguins in Antarctica, Eliza begins practicing for her future profession as a vet, when she comes across a wounded penguin. (Since Nickelodeon aired all the Thornberry episodes out of production order,they aired this as part of the 5th season.Its actually part of the 4th season)

Shane is ready to leave the Thornberrys to go back to his life as a popstar and Eliza has to be fast to tell Shane her true feelings for him before its too late. But when Shane and Eliza have a little fight and Shane runs away,can Eliza find him in time to make up and tell her feelings? (This was possibly the series finale.The show has been put to hiatus after this episode but never returned.)
