Burkina Faso (deutsche Aussprache:), übersetzt Land des aufrichtigen Menschen, ist ein westafrikanischer Binnenstaat, der südlich des Nigerbogens liegt und an Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo, Ghana und die Elfenbeinküste grenzt. Seine Unabhängigkeit erlangte das Land am 5. August 1960. Bis zum 4.
