It is the sequel to Dragon Ball and adapts the latter 325 chapters of the original 519-chapter Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1988 to 1995. Dragon Ball Z aired in Japan on Fuji TV from April 26, 1989 to January 31, 1996, before getting dubbed in territories including the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It was broadcast in at least 81 countries worldwide. About Dragon Ball Z

Five years have passed since the fight with Piccolo Jr., and Goku now has a son, Gohan. The peace is interrupted when an alien named Raditz arrives on Earth in a spacecraft and tracks down Goku, revealing to him that that they are members of a near-extinct warrior race called the Saiyans.

02/01/1995Kid Buu Saga - 38 episodes
The 38-episode ninth and final season originally ran from February 1995 to January 1996 in Japan on Fuji Television. The first English airing of the series was on Cartoon Network where Funimation Entertainment's dub of the series ran from October 2002 to April 2003. The episodes also aired in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, and the Republic of Ireland. Funimation released the season in a box set on May 19, 2009 and announced that they would be re-releasing Dragon Ball Z in a new seven volume set called the "Dragon Boxes". Based on the original series masters with frame-by-frame restoration, the first set was released on November 10, 2009. ()
The Kid Buu Saga, also known as Season 9, is the ninth and final season of the Dragon Ball Z anime. It spans from episodes 254 through 291 in the original Japanese anime and FUNimation dub, and episodes 239 through 276 in the original dub. It adapts chapters 484 to 519 from the Dragon Ball manga. It is preceded by the Majin Buu Saga.
