The twelfth season of the Pakistani music television series Coke Studio commenced airing on 11 October 2019, and concluded on 29 November 2019. The season was produced by Rohail Hyatt, after Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi stepped down from the role after just one season. Coca-Cola Pakistan remained as an executive producer. "Wohi Khuda Hai" was the season opener. The season consisted of 20 tracks and one season opener/premiere song released in the span of one and a half month.

After five seasons Strings, Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi stepped down as a producer of the show; music-maestro and creator of the show 'Rohail Hyatt' is coming back from his hiatus for 12th Season of the Coke Studio. Season 12 is coming with a huge and star-studded list of some of the best musician of Pakistan. With Atif Aslam making efforts to set the bar of next season high with Rohail Hyatt, the hype of season 12 has sky-rocketed for CS fans all over the globe.
The eleventh season of Pakistani music television series Coke Studio, titled as Coke Studio: The Sound of Nation, premiered in Pakistan on 10 August 2018. Musicians Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi were announced as a new producers and directors for the series, after Strings stepped down from the role to pursue their own music. The series was produced under Kazi and Hamza's production company Front Foot Media and was distributed by The Coca-Cola Company Pakistan. As a part of new module, Kazi and Hamza created a spin-off series Coke Studio Explorer which was released on 3 July 2018 and featured regional but largely unknown artists across the country where their performances were recorded live. The series opened to rave reviews and received critical acclaim. Despite the success of Explorer series, season eleven, received mixed reception from the critics. The ninth and last episode was released on 19 October 2018. The season consisted of 30 tracks plus one promo song.

Qawwal singer Amjad Sabri, marked his first and final appearance on Coke Studio with the song "Rang". His song was aired posthumously, as he was killed in a gun-firing on June 22, 2016, before the seasons airing. Also in the season, the Indian singer Shilpa Rao, marked her debut on Coke Studio Pakistan, becoming the first singer from India to feature on a Pakistani musical series.

The season featured twenty-three artists, twenty-two musicians and twenty-eight songs. The season featured a new house band which included musicians, backing vocalists and guest musicians.

Farhad Humuyun was recruited as the new drummer for the fifth series.

Other musicians included Natasha De Sousa and Saba Shabbir on backing vocals and on percussions were Babar Khanna, Waris 'Baloo' Ali and Zulfiq 'Shazee' Ahmed Khan.
