Baby BluesRating: 3.3/5 (with 4 votes)
Baby Blues is an American adult animated sitcom, based on the comic strip of the same name by Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott, produced by Warner Bros. The first eight episodes of Baby Blues originally aired in the United States on The WB between July 28 and August 24, 2000, before being canceled. The five remaining episodes from the first season eventually aired on Adult Swim in 2002. A second season, consisting of 13 episodes, was produced but never aired. The animated adaptation of Baby Blues differs from the comic by having it take place when Zoe was still an infant, even though she was the older sister to Hammie in the strip at the time. In addition, it focuses on Darryl and Wanda's relationship with supporting characters created for this series, including the Bittermans, a dysfunctional next-door family with three children; Bizzy, Zoe's babysitter; and Kenny, Darryl's laid-back close friend and co-worker. Rodney is hurtin' inside when Zoe develops her first crush on Shelby, and stops paying attention to him. Bizzy is hurtin' inside after she overhears Darryl talking to Rodney about bad boys and nice guys. Darryl's words convince her to dump Ray for not being a real man like Darryl. Bizzy didn't hear all of the conversation, so she is unaware he was actualy saying nice guys finish last, but he plays along after an impressed Wanda thanks him. Darryl remembers how he and his band, Darryl and the Chaos, planned to perform his love ode to Becky at the high school battle of the bands. Ray shows up at the office to threaten Darryl if he doesn't get
#5 | 08/11/2000The Bitterman Hillbillies
Carl's promotion to groundskeeper of a big-league baseball team makes Darryl green with envy, while his first purchase -- a big-screen TV -- makes Darryl bitter with jealousy. Feeling a need to compete, Darryl hangs his Scottish coat of arms proudly to show Carl how much better his ancestors were. Wanda thinks he's being ridiculous, until a saddened Bizzy says she has to resign as their babysitter, because the Bittermans lured her away with more money. While Carl and Melinda ride in the lap of luxury, Darryl fears that without Bizzy, Wanda will turn into the old Melinda. He tries to get Kenny to give him the square in the office baseball pool with the best odds, but the evil Kenny gives him his typically bad square anyway -- a 19-9 final score. Carl makes a vain attempt to patch things with the MacPhersons by inviting them and Rodney's new slave, Bizzy, to the game that Darryl just put money on. Darryl scraps his plans to bail early when Bob Costas gives the score at the top of the nin
#6 | 08/11/2000World's Greatest Dad
Melinda invites Wanda to take a day off to go to a ceramic painting place. To pacify Darryl, the ladies arrange for him and Carl to have their own fun day out -- with the kids. Darryl has as great a time with Carl as Wanda does with Melinda, but at Carl's suggestion, he pretends he had a bad time in order to make Wanda believe he put himself out to please her. To show her what a great dad he is, he agrees to put himself out again by planning another day with Carl and the kids. What Wanda doesn't know is that one of the places Carl brought Darryl to, Gumdrop Station, features a sexy showgirl who sings birthday greetings to little kids -- and whom Darryl's now infatuated with. Darryl milks his newfound selfless husband image for all it's worth, while Wanda pampers him with breakfast in bed. His plan to keep seeing the birthday lady in secret comes crashing down around him when Wanda takes the pampering one step too far, and tells him that since he has such a bad time with Carl and the ki
#7 | 08/18/2000Rodney Moves In
Darryl and Wanda are exhausted when Zoe's excessive crying keeps them up all night. Wanda looks to Carl for some help -- who in turn is looking for some help with Rodney -- and soon sees that Rodney's the only one that can make Zoe stop crying. When he gets home from work, Darryl is amazed that Rodney is Zoe's new babysitter. Melinda is amazed when she comes over late that night to claim Rodney, only to find him sleepingly peacefully with Zoe. Wanting some time apart from her son as much as Darryl and Wanda want some time apart from Zoe's crying, Melinda leaves him there -- which is fine with the MacPhersons since it means they get to have sex that night. The next morning, Rodney doesn't want to leave and his parents don't want him to leave. Darryl makes him leave, and Zoe goes right back to crying. He and Wanda have no choice but to take Rodney in as Zoe's full-time babysitter. But it doesn't take long before the little extortionist demands money out of the MacPhersons to continue kee

Wanda anxiously awaits an interview at a prestigious preschool with Zoe. Carl gets stuck with a $200 bill after Rodney causes damage at a carnival freakshow, then makes the kid work to pay him back. Wanda's anxiety turns to panic when she notices Zoe's head plagued with ugly lesions. Dr. Gruber says it's cradle cap, which will clear up eventually. Though Darryl believes it won't affect Zoe's chances of getting in, he sees how much looks do count when his old boss, Mr. Thompson -- who doesn't know who he is -- parades around the office with his newer, younger wife. Wanda's hopes are dashed when Zoe develops pink eye, then falls on her face, causing a bad scab. Wanda dreads the interview so much that she ends up taking Bunny's effeminate, long-haired son, Haggot, instead. The headmistress is fooled, even with Darryl dropping by unexpectedly and nearly blowing her cover. Darryl is so mad at Wanda for lying that he tells Mr. Thompson that Bizzy is his wife -- which gets him noticed. Wanda'
