Doch dann macht die einflussreiche Violet Gamart Ärger, die zu den angesehensten Personen in Hardborough gehört und befürchtet, die Kontrolle über die Stadt und ihre Bewohner zu verlieren….

Alexandre Lagarde ist Frankreichs berühmtester und erfolgreichster Sterne-Koch. Die Emotionen kochen bei den unterschiedlichen Auffassungen über kulinarische Feinheiten zwar gelegentlich hoch, aber die beiden arbeiten hart daran, sich gegen ihre ärgsten Widersacher durchzusetzen.
