The Greatest Dancer is a British dance competition television series created by Simon Cowell and produced by Syco Entertainment. The first BBC programme created by Cowell, The Greatest Dancer sees previously undiscovered dance acts perform live weekly for Cheryl, Oti Mabuse, Matthew Morrison and Todrick Hall (the "Dance Captains") and a studio audience in a competition to win £50,000 and a chance to perform on Strictly Come Dancing. The first series aired on BBC One on Saturdays from 5 January to 23 February 2019, and was won by 14-year-old solo dancer Ellie Fergusson from Livingston, West Lothian, who was mentored by Oti Mabuse. A second series premiered on 4 January 2020, with the addition of Todrick Hall to the judging panel, and Curtis Pritchard replaced Amelia Wilson as the receptionist. The series ran until 7 March 2020, when it was won by Latin and ballroom dancers Michael and Jowita, also mentored by Mabuse. On 28 April 2020, the BBC announced that were no plans for any further series of The Greatest Dancer. ()

The Greatest Dancer goes live for the very first time this series, as the final 12 acts dance on stage for the viewers' votes. The Dance Captains begin the live shows with three acts each, as they hope to guide them all the way to the final, to become The Greatest Dancer, win £50,000 and perform on Strictly Come Dancing. For their routines each act is given a specific challenge that they must include in their performance. This week’s theme is Best of British, so the acts tackle routines representing everything from afternoon tea to Peaky Blinders. Just as in the auditions, the live studio audience still vote if they like the performances or not, however it’s all down to the viewers at home to decide who will dance again next week, as only their votes will determine which ten acts make it through, and which two acts are going straight home. All this, plus the incredible street dance crew Diversity, including host Jordan Banjo, will be performing a unique routine.

The competition continues as the remaining ten acts take to the stage for another of our live challenge shows. This week they must master a whole new challenge, and for tonight’s theme we open the Props Box, where the objects they must handle range from ladders and canes to a chessboard.

The spectacular live shows continue, with the eight remaining acts dancing for your votes.

#8 | 22.02.2020Episode 8 (Live Challenge 4)

The remaining seven acts take on the theme of dance fusion, all hoping to make it through to next week's semi-final.

It’s the semi-final, with the six remaining acts all hoping to make it to next week’s final, and for the first time the Dance Captains decide the challenges for their acts.

#10 | 07.03.2020Episode 10 (The Final)

It's the final, with the last four acts going head to head to become the Greatest Dancer, including performing very special duets with their Dance Captains.
