Die US-Serie „The Comeback“ ist eine Single-Kamera-Comedy im Stil einer Dokumentation.Lisa Kudrow spielte eine ehemalige Sitcom-Darstellerin namens Valeria Cherish. Diese hatte ihre Karriere eher dem Zufall zu verdanken, dass ihre als Nebenfigur geplante Rolle seinerzeit in einer Sitcom beim Publikum einschlug. So war sie lange Jahre nach außen „ein Star“, am Arbeitsplatz aber Außenseiterin. Valerie versuchte ein Comeback in einer neuen Serienrolle. Allerdings galt sie nun im Business als „zu alt“ und auch zu sehr auf ihre Kult-Rolle festgelegt. Der Sender zwang ihr so auf, dass sie die Rolle nur bekäme, wenn gleichzeitig eine Reality-Serie über ihre Bemühungen produziert würde. So muss sie sich vor laufender Kamera mit Ablehnung, Gespött und der Tatsache zurechtkommen, dass sie alles andere als ein Star ist.

Because of her connection with the "Flag" photo, Saeko Shirasu was offered the job of following the SDC unit as a front line journalist. Among the SDC unit's equipment is the HAVWC (High Agility Versatile Weapon Carrier—pronounced "havoc") mecha armored vehicle.
