Edward J. Ratcliffe (10 March 1863 – 28 September 1948) was an English actor of stage and screen. He had an established stage career behind him when he came to films in 1915. He then spent nearly twenty years before the cameras before making his last film in 1933. He can be seen in many surviving silent and sound films. In the early Warner Brothers sound extravaganza The Show of Shows he plays Henry VI in the excerpted vignette from that play opposite John Barrymore's Richard III. Ratcliffe played Theodore Roosevelt in three films: The Fighting Roosevelts (1919), Sundown (1924), and I Loved a Woman (1933). New York barman Patrick Duffy claimed Ratcliffe brought the highball from England to the U.S. in 1894.

Mary Bessie Brough (16 April 1863 – 30 September 1934) was an English actress in theatre, silent films and early talkies, including eleven of the twelve Aldwych farces of the 1920s and early 1930s. The daughter of a well-known actor, Lionel Brough, with a long theatrical family tradition, she became a professional actress in December 1881. Although she was in regular demand in character parts she did not become well known to theatre-goers until she was nearly sixty. In 1922 she was cast in a small part in a farce, Tons of Money, which was followed by a ten-year series of new farces at the Aldwych Theatre for which the actor-manager Tom Walls assembled a regular company of players, including Brough. The playwright Ben Travers wrote parts expressly to suit her persona; she recorded several of them in films of the farces.

Joseph Kilgour (11 July 1863 – 21 April 1933) was a Canadian actor of the silent film era. He was a well-known veteran stage actor in Broadway theatre before entering silent films. He appeared in more than 50 films between 1909 and 1926. Kilgour was born in Ayr, Canada West to Joseph Kilgour Sr. and Mary Anderson, who married 29 September 1856. Kilgour was one of seven children of the general store owner. Kilgour left Ayr and moved to the United States to pursue his acting career. Kilgour retired from acting and died in Long Island, New York in 1933.

Wilfred Shine (12 July 1864 – 14 March 1939 in Kingston-Upon-Thames, England) was a British actor, mainly on the stage, and a specialist in melodrama. He was the father of the actor Bill Shine. Shine performed as Barney in John Bull's Other Island at 10 Downing Street for King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. Upon his death in 1939, The Times described him as "entirely devoid of preciousness or histrionic mannerisms, his acting depended chiefly on the ripeness and humanity he infused into it".

Laura Eugenia Bayley (4 February 1862 – 25 October 1938) was a British actress and filmmaker, active in the Brighton School of early cinema pioneers. Born in Ramsgate, Bayley performed onstage in Victorian burlesques, revues, and pantomimes, often with her three sisters. After marrying the showman George Albert Smith, she entered the world of early experiments with motion picture film; she played main roles in many of the most important films Smith made between 1897 and 1903, including The Kiss in the Tunnel (1899) and Mary Jane's Mishap (1903). Behind the camera, Bayley likely played a significant hand in the creative development of Smith's fiction films, and may have directed some of those currently credited to him. She also directed and supervised numerous other films on her own, including a series for an early show-at-home projector design. Film historians have highlighted her prolific career as a film performer as well as the creative talent she brought to filmmaking.
