Anne Ryan Haney (née Thomas; March 4, 1934 – May 26, 2001) was an American stage and screen character actress. She appeared in small supporting roles in around 50 film and television productions and was best known for her roles as Mrs. Sellner in Mrs. Doubtfire, Mrs. Chapil in The American President and Greta in Liar Liar. She was a regular guest-star during the syndicated run ofMama's Family, playingAlberta Meechum, the nemesis ofThelma Harper. OnOur Houseshe played fussy neighbor Virginia Taft. She was also a regular guest-star ofL.A. Law, playing Judge Marilyn Travelini. She guest starred onCheers,Designing Women,The Golden Palace,Charmed,Boy Meets World,Columbo,ER, andCurb Your Enthusiasmas the Mother ofMary Steenburgen's character. One of her last appearances was in theAlly McBealseason 4 episode "Reasons to Believe" (which aired on January 8, 2001).On May 26, 2001, Haney died of heart failure at age 67.
