Gator is a 1976 American action comedy film and a sequel to White Lightning starring and directed by Burt Reynolds in his directorial debut. The film is primarily set in Georgia. In the film, an ex-convict is blackmailed into working for a federal agent. He is tasked with investigating the operations of a local crime boss, who used to be the ex-convict's friend. The ex-convict is disgusted when he finds out that his former buddy is profiting from child prostitution, motivating him to destroy the buddy's criminal empire. ()

About Gator

After his release from prison, notorious ex-con and moonshine distiller Gator McKlusky moves in with his father in a cabin in the Okefenokee Swamp. His bootlegging plans are cut short, however, when a federal agent tells McKlusky that he will lose custody of his 9-year-old daughter unless he helps bring down local crime lord Bama McCall. McKlusky enlists the help of reporter Aggie Maybank and a few local eccentrics to bring down McCall's empire.
