United States of Al is an American television sitcom created by David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari. Starring Adhir Kalyan in the title role as Al, an interpreter from Afghanistan, the series follows his life as he moves to Columbus, Ohio with his friend Riley (Parker Young), a veteran from the United States Marine Corps he helped during his service. From executive producer Chuck Lorre through his own production company and Warner Bros. Television Studios, Dean Norris, Elizabeth Alderfer, Kelli Goss, and Farrah Mackenzie also star. A television pilot of the same name was announced in October 2019, with production beginning the following year. In November 2020, CBS gave the project a series order, scheduling it to premiere on April 1, 2021.
