Madeline has become an integral part of a prestigious physical theater troupe. When the workshop's ambitious director pushes the teenager to weave her rich interior world and troubled history with her mother into their collective art, the lines between performance and reality begin to blur. The resulting battle between imagination and appropriation rips out of the rehearsal space and through all three women's lives.
Madeline is the smallest of twelve girls in a boarding school, in an old house in Paris. When long lost Uncle Horst pays a surprise visit to Madeline, promising to move her to a new home in Vienna, her longing for a family seems to be fulfilled. Madeline becomes suspicious when her new Uncle loses his refined accent and takes an unexplained detour. Knowing she's in trouble, Madeline leaves a trail. It then turns out that Uncle Horst is actually Henri, a miserable lackey who works for an even more miserable woman, Madame LaCroque, who runs a dingy factory. Ultimately, Madeline helps the orphans who work there by notifying the outside world of their plight.
Madeline attempts to stop the theft of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, but no one believes her; so, she is sent to a manners school in London. But now the thieves are also in London, and they will try to rob the Crown Jewels! Would Madeline be able to stop them?
Madeline and the girls take an ocean liner to Tahiti, where they learn to surf, snorkel and take part in native dances, while foiling a villain's evil plan to reactivate the Tahiti-nui volcano so he can loot the capitol of the island when the city is evacuated. But Madeline's enjoyment is dampened by a falling-out with her best friend, Pepito, and she discovers that a good friendship is worth more than the best vacation in the world.
Pepito, the son of the Spanish Ambassador, invites Madeline and her fellow students to a Gypsy carnival. However, in the chaos caused by a sudden rainstorm, Miss Clavel and the other girls lose sight of Madeline and Pepito, who are unintentionally left behind on the Ferris wheel. The two children find themselves guests of the gypsies, and soon wind up part of the carnival themselves.
When Madeline falls into the river Seine and nearly drowns, a courageous canine comes to her rescue. Now Genevieve the dog is Madeline's cherished pet, and the envy of all the other girls. What can be done when there's just not enough hound to go around?
Nothing frightens Madeline—not tigers, not even mice. With its endearing, courageous heroine, cheerful humor, and wonderful, whimsical drawings of Paris, the Madeline stories are true classics that continue to charm readers even after 75 years. In this next adventure, Madeline has a new neighbor who she does not like so much. Can she and Pepito ever get along?
A young woman is tormented by nightmares of her miscarriage. She becomes unfaithful to her husband and meets various lovers. Eventually, reality begins to unfurl around her.
After connecting with the shy Madeline, a jazz trumpeter embarks on a quest for a more gregarious paramour, but through a series of twists and turns punctuated by an original score, the two lovers seem destined to be together.

Madeline, a seventy year-old woman explores memories of her life through an unreliable narration, where she describes how the reality of her life blended with fiction after she ate the pages of an entire novel in her childhood. She recalls meeting lovers from different eras of time, a possible miscarriage, adopting the ghost of a boy, and wonders how much of her memories are actual memories and how much are wishful reconstruction.

Oh Madeline was an American sitcom that was broadcast on ABC from September 27, 1983 to March 13, 1984. Starring Madeline Kahn, the show revolved around Madeline Wayne, a housewife bored after 10 years of marriage to Charlie, a sweet but square man who made his living writing steamy romance novels under the name Crystal Love. Madeline's best friend was Doris, a timid divorcee previously married to Charlie's best friend, a middle-aged swinger named Bob. Annie was Charlie's amorous editor. Madeline, bored with her predictable, sedate existence in a middle-class suburb, and wanting to put some zest back in into her life, decides to try every trendy diversion that she can find - such as seaweed-based health foods, exercise clubs, and "ladies only" clubs featuring male strippers. The show contained a lot of slapstick comedy, as well as marital misunderstandings in the tradition of I Love Lucy.
