A sumptuous wedding banquet is being held in the ballroom of a luxurious hotel. While the bride CHO LAI-MEI and her father CHO KING-TIM are waiting in the bridal room, a shot is suddenly fired. Senior Chemist of the Forensic Science Division PO KWOK-TUNG is summoned to the hotel to collect evidence while playing with his daughter. LEE CHIN-FUNG and LING SIN-YEE of the Regional Crime Unit find three corpses upon their arrival at the ballroom. Later YEE discovers one more body under the table. After receiving a call from her teammate, YEE goes to another hotel room to have a look. TUNG follows her to the site, and after a careful investigation, they believe that one suspect is in hiding. While Senior Forensic Pathologist CHUNG HOK-SUM is conducting an initial examination, the ceiling spotlight hanging over one of the corpses becomes unfastened and falls down suddenly. All the evidence at hand suggests that FU is the killer’s real target but it is still incomprehensible why the bride ends up being shot instead. YEE and FUNG go to see FU but are shocked to see him being pursued by a man. YEE takes FU to the emergency room, where they run into SUM. SUM notices a dark red scar on FU’s waist and quickly tells YEE about this. Scientific Evidence Officer CHEUNG CHEUK-KWAN examines the stain left on the clothes of one of the shootout victims HO-LEUNG, and later determines that it is bluefin tuna oil. YEE learns from the sushi chef that LEUNG had come to see his apprentice CHI before his death. SUM has accidentally spilled some coffee on a girl named CHEUNG-LING at a convenience store, who is later found to have vitiligo on her face. SUM stalks LING for a while and catches her meeting CHI in secret. YEE and FUNG go to see TIM. But before they can reach him, TIM has fallen off the rooftop.

YEE and FUNG find FU on the rooftop, who is trembling with fright and starts bleeding from his waist. TIM and FU are both sent to hospital while TUNG and his colleagues are heading for TIM’s mansion for evidence collection. FUNG comes to take statements from TIM, during which TIM reveals that FU is trying to blackmail him for money with nude photographs of MEI. SUM goes to the hospital to conduct a forensic examination of FU and TIM. Having cross-checked her findings with those from TUNG, SUM has finally found out the truth. TUNG reveals to his lawyer wife YIK-FEI that the Parent-Teacher Association chairman would like to close down the watercolor painting class which their daughter MAN has been attending. Thinking that it is a grossly unfair arrangement, FEI is not going to let it pass. SUM and YEE listen to a supernatural show on the radio, in which the “Sky Eye Girl” KA-MAN makes a prophecy.… ...

KA-MAN reveals to the business magnate KWOK FU-WAH a prophecy predicting his death. Feeling offended, KAM TAI-YAM, who is standing next to WAH, gives KA-MAN a telling-off and picks a quarrel with LUK CHUN-KWONG, also known as Rev LUMINOUS, a feng-shui master who has been assisting KA-MAN. The police have found WAH’s body on a mountain slope. SUM notices a number of horizontal wounds on WAH’s back but his front is unscathed. YEE and FUNG come to take statements from WAH’s wife MEI-FUN, and can tell from what she says that she is deeply in love with her husband. SUM submits the autopsy report to TUNG. After a detailed study of the report, TUNG believes that WAH’s death is a case of murder. KWONG and KA-MAN are summoned to the police station for questioning, during which KWONG explains that the feng-shui technique he taught WAH is for lifespan extension and avoidance of bad luck.… ...

FUN appoints FEI as her legal counsel, who is very confident of winning the case. YEE and FUNG go to the magazine’s office to look for clues. Staff of the Forensic Science Division get to watch a video clip of FUN and YAM recorded by a reporter, although they cannot hear what the pair are talking about. FEI who is working at home overhears TUNG talking on the phone, during which he suggests enlisting an expert to help decode the conversation between FUN and YAM. FUN is not happy with FEI’s attitude and decides to dismiss her. TUNG sees through FEI and begins to realize the gap between them. POK-SZE asks SUM to join him in observing KA-MAN. KWONG holds a prayer rally, attracting a large flock of worshippers who have come for KA-MAN’s buns. Some people start to develop itches as soon as they touch the buns, among whom one even throws up blood and dies after taking just a bite.… ...

YEE sees KA-MAN waving a knife at the altar and orders her to stop at once. In the confusion, FUNG manages to disarm and subdue the girl. Knowing that KWONG is still alive, YEE and FUNG send him to hospital immediately. SUM points out to YEE that KA-MAN may be suffering from autism. TUNG and his team come to the altar for evidence collection. Judging from the circumstantial evidence, TUNG believes that it is not KA-MAN but someone else who has injured KWONG. With the help of the bloodstained string bracelet found at the altar, the police have finally made a breakthrough in the investigation. SUM and SZE accompany KA-MAN back to the altar following her discharge. KA-MAN refuses to go back to her bedroom insisting that it is haunted by ghosts. SUM suspects that KA-MAN has been sexually assaulted, and immediately tells YEE about her thoughts.… ...

TUNG and his team go out for a pint as celebration, during which they discover that CHING-MAN does not drink alcoholic beverages. SUM tells TUNG that she is going on a date with SAI-YAU, making TUNG believe that they have already become an item. HONG-CHAN tells his teammates that he needs to settle his sister’s school fees as soon as possible. FUNG sympathizes with CHAN and offers to lend him a large sum of money immediately, which surprises the whole team no end. FUNG does YEE a favor by delivering the door keys to her mother FUNG-PING, and later is even generous enough to do some repairs for the lady. SHUN-HING runs into his old neighbor Auntie TSAT at the bone-setting clinic, during which Auntie TSAT reveals that tenants FUNG CHOR-KAU, KOO WING-KEUNG and CHAN YUK-MING have claimed adverse possession of the rental flats originally owned by TSUI SAI-TAT. YEE and her teammates find a burnt male corpse inside a tipping trailer.… ...

TUNG can tell from the circumstantial evidence that KAU, KEUNG and MING are all lying. KAU has no choice but to reveal to the police how they met TAT and what happened afterwards. YEE reports to her supervisor WAI-HUNG that there is still insufficient evidence to charge KAU, KEUNG and MING. KWAN has accidentally spilled some coffee on her blouse at her colleague SUK-YU’s birthday party, so she rushes to the toilet to clean up right away. But since the female toilet is closed temporarily, she has to use the one for men instead. Later CHING-MAN goes straight into the toilet and is shocked to see the naked KWAN. Thinking that CHING-MAN is making fun of her in front of their colleagues, KWAN is completely enraged. To seek revenge, she slips some alcohol into his drink, causing him to lose his sanity within just a minute. KEUNG reveals to the police that it is MING who has killed TAT but MING insists that KAU is the real culprit.… ...

YAU comes to visit SUM, during which SUM gets a call from SZE saying that he is having a check-up at hospital. YAU can see that SUM is very worried about SZE’s health. Knowing that there must be a story behind, YAU tries to talk it through with SUM, but is rejected. While shopping together, YEE and SUM spot a teenage girl APPLE ranting and raving around in the street. SUM suspects that APPLE is on drugs, which have left her in such a confused state of mind. YEE injures herself while trying to rescue APPLE, and the two of them are both sent to hospital for treatment. SUM persuades APPLE to give up drugs, but gets a terrible telling-off in return. FEI gets a call from her client WILSON early in the morning, who is being detained by the police for a road accident. FEI hurries to the spot to have a look, where she runs into HING. YEE goes to a hotel to investigate a death, in which APPLE is the victim.… ...

FUNG questions a hotel guest, from whom he learns that the room service waiter WONG CHUNG-ON did come up to deliver breakfast earlier in the morning. FUNG who is delivering the collected evidence back to the police station bumps into ON along the way. Immediately he gets out of the car to pursue the man. FEI accompanies WILSON to the police station for questioning, where she runs into SUM and picks an argument with her. YEE gets a call from the Traffic Division advising that HING, as one of the road accident witnesses, has heard WILSON say that he has killed someone. Knowing that he is going to appear in court as a witness, HING feels so proud and keeps boasting about it before his neighbors. FEI has bought HING a new cell phone, adding that she will act as WILSON’s defense counsel, and asking for his understanding. Inside the court, FEI challenges the evidence against WILSON point by point.… ...

FEI refers to HING as a visually and hearing impaired old chap in the court, which infuriates him no end. Later FEI proceeds to point out that FUNG had already screwed up the chain of evidence when he was pursuing ON and that all the evidence concerned should be deemed invalid. This view is supported by the judge. CHING-MAN tells KWAN about his childhood and the pair have finally made up with each other. PING comes to visit YEE at the police station with a pot of soup, in a deliberate attempt to find out more about her colleagues. Among all, HUNG is the one who impressed PING most. SUM runs into her old schoolmate STELLA, who is currently following up APPLE’s case as a social worker. She follows STELLA to APPLE’s residence and makes a big discovery fortuitously. The vet reveals that a young girl once came and asked to claim the ashes of APPLE’s dog, whom SUM believes is APPLE’s good friend BABY.… ...

YEE and her team go to look for BABY in her hideout, but are shocked to find that she has been kidnapped. WILSON is thrilled to know that BABY is absent from the trial, and FEI is confident that they stand a good chance of winning the case. Based on the gravel collected from BABY’s hideout, PO has finally traced the girls’ whereabouts. YEE and her team bustle around looking for BABY and finally manage to locate her just before the trial begins. According to the kidnappers, it is BENNY who has plotted the whole thing, so YEE goes to arrest him at once. YEE tries to convince BENNY to testify against WILSON, who is believed to be the real mastermind behind the kidnap. Unfortunately BENNY refuses and chooses to take all the blame. FEI goes to visit WILSON in the detention cell, during which she reveals the arrest of BENNY and suggests him plead guilty to the charge of manslaughter.… ...

YAU and SUM have been dating for a while. Thinking that their relationship is going quite well, YAU would like to introduce SUM to his mother, but SUM is not yet ready for that and turns him down straight away. Knowing that TUNG is still in love with FEI, SUM suggests him do something to save their marriage. FUNG and his teammates are going to hold a birthday party for SIN-HANG, but YEE who needs to attend a charity ball with HUNG cannot join them. HUNG comes to SUM’s apartment to pick YEE up, but suffers an acute attack of abdominal pain all of a sudden. FUNG and YEE have dinner together at a food stall. Later YEE sees a bunch of teenagers dancing in the street, and she gets so excited that she not only joins the crowd herself but also asks FUNG to dance together. Business tycoon WAH LUNG-SANG offers FEI the post of Group Chief Legal Counsel, which worries TUNG quite a bit.… ...

A male corpse is found inside a kitchen waste bin on the university campus. The Forensic Science Division and the Regional Crime Unit work together on the investigation, during which the dormitory warden points out that the victim WU SAI-HANG had become incredibly aloof since the excruciating “Bus Nerd” clip was released on the Internet. TUNG has no idea what has caused the grid-shaped wounds on SAI-HANG’s back, while CHING-MAN is curious to know why someone as good at technology as SAI-HANG would have such an outdated pinhole camera. CHAN and his teammates have found a video clip on SAI-HANG’s cell phone, which shows a group of people, including YEE and FUNG, performing street dancing. YEE and FUNG have come to realize that SAI-HANG was also there that very night as a member of the audience. YEE goes to question SAI-HANG’s classmate OSCAR.… ...

Based on OCEAN’s statements, YEE goes to question his girlfriend KELLY at her home. It is not until then that KELLY comes to realize that OCEAN and OSCAR often switch identities while going out with her. PO’s son TSUN-KIT will soon begin his internship as a houseman, and PO happily shows CHING-MAN and KWAN the pen that he is going to give KIT, which is actually a family heirloom. PO injures himself while protecting the pen from a thief. CHING-MAN and KWAN go to the university for evidence collection, where they spot a gardener burning garbage and causing a horrible smell all over the campus. The gardener is taken to the police station for questioning. He is afraid to reveal what dirty deeds he has done, but denies killing SAI-HANG all through the questioning. PO is shocked and sad to discover that KIT is on drugs and has got extremely fed up with his medicine studies.… ...

YEE brings the forensic staff to the laboratory for investigation, where they discover a light trough which seems to match the wounds on SAI-HANG’s back. KIT reveals that he did meet SAI-HANG before his death. According to KIT, SAI-HANG had even tried to stop him from committing suicide. Staff of the Regional Crime Unit and the Forensic Science Division have a joint meeting, during which SUM carefully studies the photos taken earlier and makes a discovery soon afterwards. YEE forces FUNG to continue to pretend to be her boyfriend in front of HUNG, leaving FUNG a bit embarrassed and unsure how to react. TUNG has found some new clues from the data retrieved from SAI-HANG’s computer. YEE and FUNG go to question CHRISTY, after which they analyze the case all over again in greater detail and finally work out who is the primary suspect.… ...

YEE gets pestered by HUNG again outside the police station. As soon as YEE catches sight of FUNG, she grabs his arm and the pair begin to walk away shoulder to shoulder. MAN makes a new friend, LING, while attending an extra-curricular class. The girls get on really well as they both come from a single-parent family. LING is alleged to have eaten someone else’s chocolate bar, but she denies it. Luckily TUNG is there to prove LING’s innocence, for which REBECCA feels so grateful. HUNG tells FUNG that he is required to take part in the filming of the TV documentary “Police Magazine”, making the whole team believe that HUNG is trying to seek revenge on FUNG. FUNG runs into CHAN during the filming. CHAN reveals that one of their teammates will be leaving soon, and FUNG wonders if HUNG is going to transfer YEE to another section. The Government Flying Services have found a human skeleton on a desert island in a rescue operation.… ...

YAU gives statements at the police station, during which he points out that JAY had gone missing while canoeing alone as verified by three of his friends. TUNG studies the purchase receipts found near the skeleton, and discovers that JAY did visit Lamma Island before his death. YEE and FUNG go to question JAY’s friends ALEX, BOWIE and MICHELLE at a gym. ALEX reveals that JAY had a quarrel with a boatman on Lamma Island, who he believes may have something to do with JAY’s death. HING comes to respect REBECCA more and more when he knows that she is a fervent supporter of environmental conservation and manages to achieve such a successful balance between work and family. Having learnt from YEE that ALEX has a residence on Lamma Island, YAU means to test him out at the gym. YAU tells ALEX and BOWIE that he has got something which is left by JAY...

CINDY reveals to the police that BOWIE was rushing to leave Hong Kong and that he had been beaten up by YAU shortly before his death. YAU is then detained for investigation on suspicion of murder. SUM hopes TUNG can have a check at Chung Hom Kok where YAU crashed his car, and TUNG promises to try his best with the evidence collection. YEE discovers that ALEX had called BOWIE before he was killed. ALEX does not deny it, and goes on to explain that BOWIE who had planned to leave Hong Kong was trying to borrow money from him. FUNG has dinner with YEE and PING at their place. Knowing that YEE is going out with FUNG, PING becomes so enraged that she drives him out of the flat right away. In order to avoid REBECCA, HING would rather stay at TUNG’s office and refuses to go home. YAU points out to CINDY that JAY and BOWIE may have been killed by the same person.… ...

CINDY’s body is lowered from the ceiling fan, so that SUM can proceed with the forensic examination on the spot. The police discover that CINDY has typed a suicide note on her computer. SUM releases the autopsy results to the police and the Forensic Science Division, making everyone believe that CINDY’s death is a case of murder. Based on the information provided by the Forensic Science Division, FUNG and CHAN go to a trophy shop to look for clues, where they have made some new discoveries. YEE and FUNG hurry to the gym to arrest ALEX. But after receiving a call from her teammate, YEE explains that MICHELLE is the one who should be arrested. While YEE is waiting to take statements from MICHELLE, ALEX suddenly arrives with his legal counsel and turns himself in. SZE reveals that YAU’s mother has been urging him to propose to SUM, which SUM finds a little worrying. YAU gives SUM a gift while dining at a high-class restaurant.… ...

SUM and SZE go to a Chinese diner to enjoy beef rice noodles, during which a waiter called NGAU has accidentally spilled some soup on SUM’s top. NGAU who gets sacked puts all the blame on SUM. PING tries to take advantage of a sea-products store but gets teased by the store owner, who happens to be FUNG’s mother ELLA. Knowing that her father HOWARD is not feeling well, ELLA rushes back home with FUNG to have a look. FUNG’s teammates have come to learn about his wealthy background from the magazine. Thinking that FUNG has been deliberately lying about his true identity, YEE gets a little angry. CHING-MAN has inherited a flat from his recently deceased neighbor Granny HEUNG, but the legal counsel representing Granny HEUNG’s son claims that the will providing for the transfer of property is invalid. TUNG runs into his old friend Prof KING and introduces him to SUM. Nevertheless, KING and SUM do not seem to get along.… ...

SUM is held hostage on the rooftop by the girl who has been threatening her. The girl stabs TUNG and throws SUM out of the rooftop. Desperate to save SUM, TUNG runs over to grab her hands to prevent her from falling. Knowing that HOWARD’s health is deteriorating, FUNG promises ELLA that he will come back to see his grandfather as soon as he can. Having found a forensic handwriting expert who can help establish the genuineness of Granny HEUNG’s will, CHING-MAN and KWAN decide to head for the New Territories to look for a major witness Uncle CHEUNG. HOWARD calls for a family meeting and introduces his newly wed wife BONNIE to all his children. ELLA and her siblings pick an argument with their father, during which HOWARD gets so worked up that he has a stroke and faints away. FUNG is furious to see that the whole family are only concerned about HOWARD’s estate.… ...

HING and SZE are thrilled to learn that TUNG and SUM have begun dating. Knowing that TUNG and SUM have become an item, colleagues from the Forensic Science Division cannot help making fun of the professional couple. CHING-MAN says that he dislikes the idea of going out with a colleague, which disappoints KWAN quite a bit. Despite everyone’s opposition, BONNIE decides to send HOWARD back home for recuperation. ELAINE and HILBERT have no choice but to stay at the mansion so that they can keep a close watch on the woman. ELAINE’s husband PAUL has a secret meeting with BONNIE, during which he tries to blackmail her for HK$5,000,000. A man is found dead in a car, and FUNG is shocked to learn that the victim is actually PAUL. While KWAN is busy collecting evidence inside the CHINs’ mansion, HILBERT suddenly comes up to say hello. It is later found that KWAN and HILBERT have met before somewhere overseas.… ...

TUNG deduces that PAUL is not killed by BONNIE. SUM performs an autopsy of BONNIE and finds a tiny piece of black ragged lace around her watch winder. ELLA picks a quarrel with PING again while trying to get a taxi, making FUNG more embarrassed than ever. YEE goes to the CHINs’ mansion and arrests ELLA on charge of murder. Desperate to prove ELLA’s innocence, YEE hustles around to look for a scabby beggar who can provide an alibi for her. TUNG and his team go to the CHINs’ mansion for another round of evidence collection, during which YEE spots the maids taking out two bags of unwanted clothes, which are donated by ELAINE for charity sale. TUNG discovers that the black ragged lace found around BONNIE’s watch winder is from a broken scarf of ELAINE. ELAINE, who has now become a prime suspect, admits arguing with BONNIE over PAUL some days ago. FUNG is so worried about his family.

ELLA is shocked to hear that a dead cat is found at their garden. Curious to know what is going on, FUNG rushes to have a look too. PO establishes that PAUL and the cat were killed by the same poison. With the help of the gloves found next to the dead cat, TUNG can finally tell who the real killer is. KWAN reveals that she is recruited back into CSI of the States, which comes as an extremely shocking surprise for CHING-MAN. ELLA comes to visit FUNG’s colleagues at the police station with a big bowl of abalones, following which she even invites YEE to tea at the canteen. YEE is glad to know that ELLA is finally willing to accept her. While enjoying the sunset together, TUNG reveals to SUM that he has been thinking about how to convince MAN to accept their relationship. TUNG, SUM and MAN go to chill out at Disneyland. After a day of fun, they return home wearily, and TUNG is shocked to see FEI as soon as he opens the door.

TUNG and SUM are a little embarrassed to see FEI back while FEI seems to have found out about their relationship too. A female corpse dressed in vampire costume is found inside a toy company. YEE and her team have soon arrived at the scene for investigation. The victim, MOON, is lying dead with a wooden peg in her chest, which shocks everyone to the core. SIM, when giving statements, reveals that MOON was having an affair with the toy company owner CHAN WAH-KEUNG, but KEUNG is currently in mainland China and cannot be reached by phone. PO points out that there is some pomade trapped in MOON’s fingernails, so YEE begins to suspect the security manager MA TSUN-PING, who loves to grease his hair with pomade. FEI seems rather distracted after receiving a call from the United States, which worries TUNG quite a bit. SUM finds FEI’s cellphone in TUNG’s car, and decides to return it to FEI at once.… ...

TUNG sends FEI to hospital for a medical examination. Knowing that she can no longer hide the truth, FEI finally agrees to reveal everything. FEI decides to stay in Hong Kong, and will be writing a legal column for a local newspaper. Realizing how worried SUM must have been all these days, TUNG takes her to a jewelry shop and plans to buy her a diamond ring, hoping that this will give her a stronger sense of security. KEUNG is back in Hong Kong and is surprised to see PO in the police station. The two of them used to go to the same secondary school, and have known each other for quite some years. SUM discovers a bite mark on KEUNG’s neck, which is later proved to be left by MOON. FEI makes a formal apology to HING, hoping that he will accept her back into the family. HING, however, says that he will just leave it up to TUNG to decide. TUNG and his team study the photos taken at the toy company.… ...

YEE, FUNG and their teammates arrive at SIM’s residence, and are shocked to see her lying on the floor and surrounding herself with seven candles. Thinking that SIM may have been hiding her son’s corpse in the bedroom, FUNG and MING-WAI get inside to carry out a search. Surprisingly, it turns out that… KWAN would like to retract her resignation but TUNG says that the letter has been forwarded to the Human Resources Department for follow-up. Her colleagues ask her to concentrate on her new job in the States and wish her every success in her future. CHING-MAN is so desperate to get KWAN out of the predicament that he has finally revealed their relationship. FEI gets a call from the newspaper editor, advising that YUNG, the convict who allegedly killed a couple in Yuen Long 30 years ago, is seeking her help in proving his innocence.… ...

Based on the autopsy results, SUM establishes that FEI was killed in the same way as her mother and that the murderer must have some sort of serious mental problem. Knowing that MAN will be utterly devastated by FEI’s death, HING means to hide the news. TUNG is heartbroken when he sees how MAN keeps talking about FEI. YEE, FUNG and the rest of the team have a meeting, in which YEE points out that FEI had found a lot of news clippings about Tai Tin Ngau Village in Yuen Long prior to her death. YEE therefore asks FUNG to conduct an investigation in the newspaper office. After a detailed analysis of the case, the police decide to look for a paralyzed 60-year-old and a man in his 30s in Tai Tin Ngau Village. Inside the Village, YEE bumps into CHIU TAI-LUNG who is moving about in a wheelchair. KWAN gets injured while trying to save CHING-MAN. Looking at the unconscious KWAN, CHING-MAN is extremely worried. PO and TUNG arrive at LUNG’s house to collect evidence, during which they discover something inside the kitchen range. LUNG admits killing all the victims, and reveals why he did so. YEE believes that LUNG is only trying to take the blame for TAK, but WAI points out that TAK is diagnosed as moderately mentally ill and may not be able to commit murder. TUNG and SUM go to pay SZE a visit. On their way back, SUM discovers that she has left her coat in SZE’s place, so TUNG offers to get it back for her. Along the way, TUNG gets a call from SUM who suddenly lets out a piercing scream. TUNG catches up with a suspicious-looking car and manages to get inside by smashing the car windows. Unfortunately, TUNG gets knocked out as soon as he enters the car.… ...
