Being Human is a supernatural drama television series developed for North American television by Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke, based upon the British series of the same name created by Toby Whithouse. The series premiered on Syfy and Space Channel on January 17, 2011, with a thirteen episode first season and tells the story of Aidan (Sam Witwer) and Josh (Sam Huntington), a vampire and a werewolf respectively, who move into a new apartment only to discover that it is haunted by the ghost of a previous tenant, Sally (Meaghan Rath). Together, the three of them discover that being human is not as easy as it seems. The fourth and final season began on January 13, 2014, and once again introduced changes to the dynamics of the group: Josh's lycanthropy curses him to be a wolf all but the night of the full moon, but Sally, who has returned from being trapped between dimensions by Donna, now has magical powers and manages to free Josh from the curse, but the spell does not go as planned and Josh's inner wolf is still present, while Aidan must now deal with his wife Suzanna, who was thought to be long dead, and Kenny, who is now heading the Boston vampires.

Season 3 began on January 14, 2013, and features several changes to the core dynamics of the group: Josh is no longer cursed to be a werewolf, Sally is brought back from the dead at the expense of killing her loved ones and slowly rotting away, and Aidan is threatened by a deadly virus that kills vampires. Amy Aquino joins the cast as the witch Donna who is responsible for bringing back Sally, but at a steep price, as does Xander Berkeley as Liam McLean, the father of the purebred twins from season 2 who is looking for his daughter after learning his son has been killed by a vampire.

Returning from limbo leaves Sally with more baggage than she bargained for, as well as new abilities that prove to be both a blessing and a curse. Josh deals with the consequences of attempting to lift his werewolf curse and his life is further complicated when an ominous visitor comes to Boston looking for him and Nora. Aidan resurfaces from being grounded and finds the vampire community vastly changed; he must find a new approach to feeding that will change his life forever.

Aidan was a Revolutionary War soldier who sacrificed himself to vampires to spare his men. Now, some 260 years later, he is still struggling to escape the orbit of his powerful mentor, Bishop.
