Nick Nicholson

Daniel Patrick Nicholson, better known as Nick Nicholson, was an American expatriate character actor working in the Philippines. Since the early 1980s, Nicholson has appeared in both big-budget Hollywood productions shot in the archipelago and low-budget, Filipino action movies. He had acted in several films by the directors Cirio H. Santiago, John Gale, and Teddy Page. He died from heart failure on August 11, 2010, in the Philippine Heart Center. ()

Nick Nicholson was one of many Americans to expatriate to the Philippines after the Vietnam War. Starting in the mid 1970's he became involved in the local film industry there as an actor and casting director, often responsible for finding as many Anglo-looking locals to play non-Filipino roles in local productions. He can also be seen in numerous bigger-budget American Vietnam War films made including Apocalypse Now and Platoon, often playing American soldiers.
