John Richard Moore Jr. (September 12, 1925 – September 7, 2015) was an American actor known professionally as Dickie Moore, he was one of the last surviving actors to have appeared in silent film. A busy and popular actor during his childhood and youth, he appeared in over 100 films until the early 1950s. Among his most notable appearances were the Our Gang series and films such as Oliver Twist, Blonde Venus, Sergeant York, Out of the Past, and Eight Iron Men. ()

Dickie Moore (born John Richard Moore Jr.) made his acting and screen debut at the age of 18 months in the John BarrymorefilmThe Beloved Rogue(1927). By the time he had turned ten he was a popular child star and had appeared in 52 films. Moore continued as a child star for many more years, and was the actor who gave Shirley Templeher first romantic screen kiss when that honor was bestowed upon him in 1942'sMiss Annie Rooney.As with many child actors, once Moore got older the roles began to dry up. He made his final film in 1950, but was still in the public eye with the 1949 to 1955 television seriesCaptain Video and His Video Rangers(1949). He then retired from acting for a new career in publicity.Moore died, age 89, in 2015.
