Romania is a country at the crossroads of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. It borders Ukraine to the north and east, Hungary to the west, Serbia to the southwest, Bulgaria to the south, Moldova to the east, and the Black Sea to the southeast. Ion Dichiseanu (20 October 1933 – 20 May 2021) was a Romanian actor. He was known, among other things, for playing in Kampf um Rom, Titanic Waltz and Mofturi 1900. Dichiseanu died in the Floreasca Hospital in Bucharest on 20 May 2021, aged 87, after having stayed months hospitalized there. The cause of his death was a bacterial infection that caused a pneumonia.

Nadia Elena Comăneci Conner (born November 12, 1961) is a Romanian retired gymnast and a five-time Olympic gold medalist, all in individual events. In 1976, at the age of 14, Comăneci was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10.0 at the Olympic Games. At the same Games (1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal) she received six more perfect 10s for events en route to winning three gold medals.
