Chandralekha is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, directed by Nambirajan. Starring Vijay and Vanitha Vijayakumar in her debut, the film revolves around an orthodox Brahmin girl falling in love with a Muslim boy, Rahim, but their families do not accept it. The lovers try to elope and are caught by militants in the forest. Chandralekha was released on 23 October 1995, during Diwali, and performed poorly at the box office, even though the songs were a hit. ()

About Chandralekha

Chandralekha starring by vijay and Vanitha vijayakumar. An orthodox brahmin girl falls in love with Muslim boy Rahim. Their families don't accept it. Meanwhile, the lovers try to run away from everybody, but are caught by militants in the forest.They are rescued from the militants by the police and brought safely to the village. Finally they overcome all of their problems thanks to their love. The message of the movie is that love should be beyond religion, caste, and creed.
