This Sunday, 02/24/2019, saw the annual presentation of the Academy Awards - the highlight of the film industry's awards season from November to February. At the 91st Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles - commonly known as "Oscars" - movies and filmmakers were honored in 24 categories by the over 6,000 members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). In the more than 3-hour long show, Green Book won the "Best Picture" award, Rami Malek won as "Best Actor" (for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody) and Olivia Colman won "Best Actress" (for Anne in The Favourite). The Oscar for "Best Director" went to Alfonso Cuarón for Roma.
Despite 10 nominations The Favourite was not the favorite of the electorate and received only 1 award. Bohemian Rhapsody received 4 Oscars, while Black Panther, Green Book and the Netflix production Roma each got 3.
