Anders als in seinem Debüt "Ex Drummer" knallt es in Koen Mortiers zweitem Film gleich zu Anfang. Der alleinstehende Sam kriecht aus den Federn, zündet sich eine Kippe an, putzt sich die Zähne, macht sich Brot und Kaffee und geht zur Arbeit. Für den Wachmann eines Einkaufszentrums geht zunächst alles seinen gewohnten Gang - bis buchstäblich die Bombe platzt: Tinnitus, Staub, Geröll, Feuer, Geschrei und Sams verzweifelter Versuch, verstümmelte Menschen zu retten. Von Angst und Panik überwältigt entzieht er sich schließlich der unerträglichen Situation; rennt, soweit ihn die Beine tragen. Was folgt, ist ein verstörendes, surreales Echo des Anschlags - wieder und wieder muss Sam ihn durchleben, aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven. Die Geister der Verstorbenen scheinen ihn heimzusuchen.
