Serbokroatisch oder Kroatoserbisch (serbokroatisch srpskohrvatski oder hrvatskosrpski bzw. kyrillisch српскохрватски oder хрватскосрпски) ist eine plurizentrische Sprache aus dem südslawischen Zweig der indoeuropäischen Sprachen. Sie basiert in allen ihren Standardvarietäten auf der štokavischen Dialektgruppe. Ihr Sprachraum umfasst das heutige Kroatien, Bosnien und Herzegowina, Montenegro und Serbien. In der Linguistik wird alternativ auch die Bezeichnung Bosnisch/Kroatisch/Serbisch (kurz B/K/S) verwendet. Umgangssprachlich ist der Begriff naš jezik (serbokroatisch für ‚unsere Sprache‘) bzw. (po) naše/naški ‚die unsrige‘ geläufig, um eine ethnische Zuordnung zu umgehen. Erstmals wurde der Begriff Serbokroatisch im Jahr 1824 von Jacob Grimm im Vorwort seiner Übersetzung der Kleinen Serbischen Grammatik von Vuk Stefanović Karadžić erwähnt. Einige Jahre später, 1836, wurde dieser Ausdruck erneut vom Philologen Jernej Kopitar in einem Brief benutzt. Seit der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts war Serbokroatisch die offizielle gemeinsame Standardsprache der Serben, Kroaten, Bosniaken und Montenegriner.
