Kurau Phantom Memory (stylized as KURAU Phantom Memory) is a Japanese science fiction anime series, produced by Bones and Media Factory, which was broadcast in Japan by the anime television networks Animax and TV Asahi from June to December 2004. Set primarily in the year 2110, it explores themes such as inter-familial relationships and ethics in science. The series was licensed by A.D. Vision for North American localization for $960,000 since the first episode aired, and the first DVD was released on April 10, 2007. In 2008, the series was transferred from A.D. Vision to Funimation Entertainment, along with over 30 other titles. ()

Kurau ist ein 12 Jahre altes Mädchen, welches in einem wohlbehüteten Zuhause lebt. Eines Tages verspricht ihr Vater, dass sie ihn zu einem seiner Experimente begleiten darf. Ihr Vater betreibt Experimente zur Suche nach neuen Energieformen. Während einem jener Experimente läuft vollkommen unerwartet etwas schief und auf einmal schwirren zwei Lichter durch den Raum. Eines der beiden Lichter dringt durch Zufall in Kurau ein. In Folge dessen löst sich Kurau vor den Augen ihres Vaters in tausende kleiner Lichter auf und verschwindet. Kurz darauf taucht sie wieder auf, jedoch scheint etwas nicht zu stimmen, denn Kurau besitzt eine andere Persönlichkeit, welche sich Rynax nennt. 10 Jahre später ist Kurau eine gefürchtete Agentin, welche durch ihre übermenschlichen Fähigkeiten sehr bekannt ist.

Kurau takes on an extremely dangerous assignment, rescuing a space pilot whose spaceship has gone out of control. There are complications, however. Kurau and Christmas are being watched by the GPO, the police department of the future, and a blonde man, who apparently is a private agent.

Kurau and Christmas are on the run from the GPO and must leave their old life behind. Kurau gets a job as an agent with a new company, going after a gang of art thieves. When Kurau's new partner is captured, she is forced to rescue him.

Kurau convalesces from her injuries incurred in her previous case. Christmas takes care of her, doing the cooking and the shopping. Meanwhile, Kurau's father, is forced to use his scientific knowledge of Rynax energy to help the GPO. The GPO hunts a stray Rynax, while Doug hunts for any signs of Kurau, since she vanished from his surveillance.

Ayaka visits Kurau and Christmas and shares some of her past with Kurau. Kurau and Christmas then travel to France to find two Rynax twins, to try to save them from being captured by the GPO. Ayaka confronts Director Saito.

The Rynax twins, Windt and Regel, turn out to have no regard for human lives, when they act out their strategy to capture Kurau's Rynax energy.

Director Saito has perfected his newest crop of GPO soldiers. Kurau and Christmas continue to chase the Delyus twins. The twins, however, manage to separate Kurau and Christmas from each other, leaving them more vulnerable. But the pair are not in this fight alone. Ayaka Steiger has something special up her sleeve, to assist them in capturing the twins.
