Kaafir is a 2019 Indian web television series directed by Sonam Nair. Written by Bhavani Iyer, the series follows Kainaaz Akhtar, a woman from Pakistan occupied Kashmir who winds up on the Indian side of the Line-of-Control (LOC), and is held prisoner under the suspicion of being a militant. After giving birth to a child while spending seven years in imprisonment, Kainaaz and her daughter are helped by an Indian journalist, who seeks to bring them justice. It is inspired by the true story of Shehnaz Parveen. Starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina, all 8 episodes premiered on 15 June 2019 on the streaming platform ZEE5. ()

Vedant’s journey to send Kainaaz and Seher back to their country begins. Trying to fight the odds, Vedant gives Kainaaz the hope that she needs to figure her life out. She starts cooking, praying and enjoying her life with her daughter.

Vedant learns that his father had collapsed and rushed to the hospital. Kainaaz and Seher go back to Dhruv’s house and realise that the house has been ransacked. Some young men, from the locality push Kainaaz and Seher in the house and set the house on fire.

Kainaaz’s heart lies in India but her duties call her back to Pakistan. Now begins a beautiful journey of unrequited love and freedom of open skies.
