Serbien und Montenegro (serbisch Србија и Црна Гора/Srbija i Crna Gora), auch genannt Serbien-Montenegro oder Serbien/Montenegro, war ein Bundesstaat in Südosteuropa. Er existierte unter diesem amtlichen Namen vom 4. Februar 2003 bis zum 3. Juni 2006, bestand aus den Teilstaaten Serbien und Montenegro und löste damit die seit dem 27. April 1992 bestehende, territorial und staatsrechtlich identische Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien ab. Diese war der größte Nachfolgestaat der in den Jugoslawienkriegen der 1990er Jahre zerfallenen Sozialistischen Föderativen Republik Jugoslawien und wurde zu ihrer Zeit in der internationalen Öffentlichkeit auch Restjugoslawien genannt. Rechtsnachfolger von Serbien und Montenegro ist die Republik Serbien, die auch die UN-Mitgliedschaft fortführt. Anfang Juni 2006 erklärte sich Montenegro nach einem Referendum für unabhängig. Die administrative und militärische Kontrolle des Kosovos lag seit dem Ende des Kosovokrieges 1999 (also während der gesamten knapp dreieinhalbjährigen Existenz Serbien-Montenegros) bei den Vereinten Nationen bzw. der KFOR.
