Estela Inda

Stella(orEstela)Inda(June 28, 1917 – December 7, 1995) was aMexicanfilmactress. She was the star of notable Mexican films, includingLos olvidadosbyLuis Buñuelin 1949. She started her career as extra in the successful filmLa Mujer del Puerto, starred byAndrea Palma. Also, she participated in Mexican films such asLa Noche de los Mayas(1939),Santa(second souns version, 1943),Bugambilia(1944, withDolores del Río),Amok(1945, withMaría Félix), and the success filmsLos olvidados(1949, directed byLuis BuñuelandEl Rebozo de Soledad(1955). In the later years, she was an acting teacher in theInstituto Nacional de Bellas Artesin Mexico, and directed a folkloric dance group called "Stella Inda y su Conjunto". In 1947 she had a prominent but uncredited role as the historical personageLa Malinchein the Hollywood epicCaptain from Castile, oppositeCesar RomeroasHernán Cortés.
