He has numerous television credits to his name, notably inSapphire and Steel,The Professionals,The Scarlet Pimperneland provided minor voice talent for both the hitWallace and Gromitfeature-length filmCurse of the Were-RabbitandFlushed Away(both produced byAardman). Fairbank also appeared as one of the pair of muggers who rob an out-of-town family, heralding the first appearance of theBatmaninTim Burton's1989 film. Fairbank also had roles as Mactilburgh the scientist in the filmThe Fifth Element,the prisoner Murphy inAlien 3, and the Player Queen in theFranco Zeffirelliversion ofHamlet, oppositeMel Gibson. Recently, he provided the voice of Old King Doran in the video gameDemon's Soulsand provides a number of voice accents in the PS2 video gamePrisoner of War.
