Zwei junge Männer verlieben sich in dasselbe Mädchen. Nachdem die US in den 1. Weltkrieg eingreifen, treten beide dem US Air Corps bei und werden dort Asse. Sie bleiben Freunde, aber die Beziehung zu dem Mädchen bedroht ihre Freundschaft.
In 1918 a young and simple Mongol herdsman and trapper is cheated out of a valuable fox fur by a European capitalist fur trader. Ostracized from the trading post, he escapes to the hills after brawling with the trader who cheated him. In 1920 he becomes a Soviet partisan, and helps the partisans fight for the Soviets against the occupying British army. However he is captured by the British when they try to requisition cattle from the herdsmen at the same time as the commandant meets with a reincarnated Grand Lama. After the trapper is shot, the army discovers an amulet that suggests he is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan. They find him still alive, so the army restores his health and plans to use him as the head of a puppet regime. The trapper is thus thrust into prominence as he is placed in charge of the puppet government. By the end, however, the "puppet" turns against his masters in an outburst of fury.
Set in the years before and during World War I, this epic tale tells the story of a rich Argentine family, one of its two descending branches being half of French heritage, the other being half German. Following the death of the family patriarch, the man's two daughters and their families resettle to France and Germany, respectively. In time the Great War breaks out, putting members of the family on opposing sides.

Following the Spanish-American War, a soldier is given the assignment of finding the leader of a band of rebels in the Philippines. In order to do this, he must romance Roma, a cabaret spy working for the rebels. This does not please the daughter of his commanding officer, whom he is romancing.

The film portrays the Imperial German Navy during the First World War, particularly the Battle of Jutland and is based on a novel by Helmut Lorenz.
Die Geschichte dreier Brüder, verbunden mit der historischen Gestalt des U-Boot-Kommandanten Otto Weddigen: Zwei der Brüder dienen in der deutschen, einer in der britischen Marine. Der ältere Deutsche und der Brite lieben dasselbe Mädchen, ihre Cousine Hilde. Da beginnt der Krieg zwischen Deutschland und England. Die Deutschen dienen auf dem Unterseeboot U 9 unter Kapitänleutnant Weddigen. Als ihr Boot torpediert wird, kommt der jüngere Bruder ums Leben, der ältere entkommt im Rettungsboot. Auch der englische Bruder wird schwer verwundet und gerät in ein deutsches Lazarett, wo er von Hilde, die als Krankenschwester arbeitet, gepflegt wird. Als Hilde sich entschließt, keinem der Brüder ihre Liebe zu geben, geht der deutsche Bruder als Wachoffizier auf die U 29 unter Weddigen und stirbt mit allen Kameraden, als das Boot 1915 von einem englischen Kreuzer gerammt wird.

After bringing down yet another German pilot and escaping uninjured from his burning aircraft, Haggerty (Milton Sills) and his buddy, aircraft machinist Klaxon (Arthur Stone), head for Paris, albeit without an official leave of absence. In escaping from M.P.'s, Haggerty takes refuge in a room occupied by Germaine Benoit (Molly O'Day). Love soon springs up, and Haggerty decides to reform, returning to Major Cotton (Mitchell Lewis) with this resolution. A dead officer's German wife betrays 'Hampshire's' secret route.
During World War I, an Austrian officer is trapped behind the Russian lines. He tries to sneak through to his own lines, but is forced to take refuge in a small hotel, where he is hidden by the establishment's chambermaid. The two fall in love, but a Russian general makes the hotel his headquarters and sets his sights on the maid. In addition, the Austrian must find out the identity of a spy who is feeding the Russians military information that could lead to the destruction of the Austrian army.

During the Civil War, Rachel Hayne, a young widow, is among those "held by the enemy" when her old family home is within the lines occupied by the Northern troops.
