Viele Jahre später wird der Eroberer durch einen neuen Herrscher abgelöst. Malefiz sieht die Chance gekommen, ihre Heimat dessen Fängen zu entreißen und zieht gegen den neuen Herrscher zu Felde. Nachdem dieser Schachzug misslingt, belegt sie die Tochter des Herrschers Aurora mit einem Fluch. Als dieses heranwächst, erkennt Malefiz jedoch die Bedeutung Auroras - für ihr Heimatland und für sich selbst.
