Maltesisch (Eigenbezeichnung: Malti) ist die Sprache Maltas. Sie ist aus einem arabischen Dialekt (Maghrebinisch, Sizilianisch-Arabisch) entstanden und gehört somit zu den semitischen Sprachen.
